About Our Name

Nala brought such joy to my family, she was an exceptionally gentle soul. 

Nala was rescued at 6 weeks old and she spent her life helping me welcome rescued dogs into our home. She seemed to understand the hopelessnes they felt. She nurtured orphan puppies who took to her like their mother. She was never jealous, never tired of helping other dogs, whom she sensed were not as fortunate. Nala passed away last year at age 8 after bravely battling cancer for 2 years.

It was then, I re-named my rescue to honor her legacy.

Our Mission

Nala's New Life Rescue is dedicated to rescuing companion animals including dogs, cats and horses that have been abused, forgotten, rejected or abandoned. We never discriminate on the basis of health, age or breed.

We specialize in saving unwanted dogs who otherwise would be euthanized or gassed at kill shelters. Once rescued, all of our animals have a full veterinary examination, vaccinations and are spayed or neutered before they are placed into carefully screened foster homes or placed up for adoption. If neither a foster home or permanent home are available, the dogs are boarded temporarily at local vets or day care facilities until they are emotionally and/or physically healed or a home becomes available.
