The Jeff Corwin produced documentary "Expedition Rescue Mission Hope" is a 25 minute documentary featuring Nala's New Life Rescue and it premiered in a private screening in Stuart on Sunday night sponsored by the Pegasus Foundation and the Everglades Animal Coalition. The event was invitation only as it was held at a small art gallery and also featured live animals from Treasure Coast Wildlife. Nala's is honored to be featured in this documentary which tells the story of the incredible amount of dogs and cats who are abandoned or surrendered to shelters in South Florida and the amazing partnerships Nala's has formed to allow them to rescue and transport hundreds of animals each year. There are no words for the amount of work involved in these transports or the amount of gratification when Nala's receives an email that the dog they just transported is adopted! From choosing the lucky dogs at Okeechobee Animal Control to go on transport, to bringing them to Nala's ranch to care for and evaluate the dogs prior to starting their journey, taking them to All Creatures Animal Hospital for complete vetting and health certificates to completing all the paperwork and loading them in the van at 5am to meet the Darbster transport in West Palm Beach, each life saved is worth it. There are way too many dogs in South Florida and not enough homes. Most of the dogs rescued are NOT spayed or neutered, many have heartworm disease even at a young age and will need to go thru months of treatment before they can be transported. Nala's has absorbed many dogs and cats into their rescue who did not qualify for transport so any donations are greatly appreciated to allow Nala's to continue their life saving missions transporting these animals. Once Nala's receives the date from Jeff Corwin when the documentary will air on tv they will post it. Thank you!
